Dimitri's DMT Defense
Follows Dimitri Spirit, accused of murdering his friend in their locked dorm. He claims while the two were under the influence of DMT, reptilian DMT beings emerged from a portal in the wall and caused his friend's death. A trial follows. The film has an original script written and directed by Erika Rawes, with Robert Rawes acting as the supervising producer and audio generating engineer. Maya Mack Rawes wrote and performed the original song "Lost Feelings for a Friend," while Erik D. Lane performed the essential role of ai design editor and engineer (maintaining visual continuity across generated frames)

Dimitri's DMT Defense is the earliest feature movie of its type. Dimitri's DMT Defense is the earliest US-produced, feature length sci-fi film about DMT made for under $1,000 through human-AI collaboration using the creators' own faces as visual base assets.
No outside studio funding
Studio funding is not easy to obtain, as more and more competition enters the market. Even great ideas get passed by. This new way of making films allows smaller creators to make their ideas come to life without funding from a studio or executive.
AI human collaboration and a 4-person human crew
So many films require hundreds of cast and crew, while we made this with four people and a few very talented AI collaborators.
Under $1,000 Budget
We spent less than $1,000 in total to make Dimitri's DMT Defense. Most of that cost was tokens to create assets. We kept our costs low by using our own technical skills whenever possible.
6 week timeline
We completed this film on a six week timeline. That's becoming more common for short AI films, but for a feature-length sci-fi, this is not standard in mid 2026.
